Maybe it will help some of you out.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;ul&gt;   &lt;li&gt;Deli slices of turkey and chicken - these are very low in calories as well as fat. A healthy way to get that protein your body needs.&lt;/li&gt;    &lt;li&gt;Baby carrots - what a great snack.&lt;/li&gt;    &lt;li&gt;Apples - again a great snack, also a good fat burner.&lt;/li&gt;    &lt;li&gt;Cottage cheese - fairly low on calories and fat, and it fills me up!&lt;/li&gt;    &lt;li&gt;Cucumbers - I like to eat the baby ones as little snacks.&lt;/li&gt;    &lt;li&gt;Fat free yogurts, 60 calories. Great afternoon snack, or even good with lunch!&lt;/li&gt; &lt;/ul&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Also here is a recipe for a pretty healthy Banana shake for when you get that sweet tooth craving, or on a hot day (it has been hot here in California) when ice cream sounds delish.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Ingredients:  &lt;br /&gt;1 Large Banana, sliced and frozen.   &lt;br /&gt;1 tsp of Splenda - I just use a packet.   &lt;br /&gt;1 cup of skim milk.&lt;br /&gt;A splash of vanilla, maybe a 1/4 tsp.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Combine all ingredients in the blender, blend, and enjoy. It really is that simple, and very tasty. This recipe makes two servings. I also have fell very short of my weight goals for this month and have indeed stepped my shit up these past few days. I am minus 2 lbs, so 168lbs. Which is fine, but I really need to work out. I am also worried about my health, I want to be healthy more than anything. I want a strong heart, I want strong lungs. My mother is very much overweight and this causing me great anxiety, I have awful anxiety as is, but the fact that she is over 100lbs overweight frightens me constantly. I want her to be around when I am getting married, and maybe even have kids, I want her to be around for everything god willing. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Anyway, I promise more updates, at least 2 a week, and I promise (myself) I am stepping up now, whether or not I am feeling blue. I smoked some cigarettes the other day, four, and it made me feel better, but I know I can't start giving into that again.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Also, thank you for the comment on my last post it was very sweet and I just saw it. My body has changed drastically this past year, those green underwear there - they fit me last winter! I actually managed &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;NOT&lt;/span&gt; to gain any weight over the holidays, I actually lost 3lbs! While that is not the most impressive amount lost, it's something! I haven't started working out but I plan to start tonight, and I am thinking pilates and jogging for now. Maybe jog for 30 minutes, this week, and gradually move it up. I have been watching what I eat, and I am very proud of myself. I by no means starve myself and do give into my chocolate cravings (love). Another thing I am proud of... I have stayed sober! Very happy about that and it seems like the longer I have been the more motivated I am to stay sober. I plan on posting some pictures later on as well, I guess it is fair to say that this blog had officially begun! Background:&lt;/strong&gt; I am twenty years-young and I live in Los Angeles, California. The past year of my life, from what I can even remember, has been a personal and emotional hell. It probably sounds stupid but I broke up with this guy that I had been with for two years and went through a fucking lot with. It was a very hard thing to get over, and I'm not sure if all those wounds are healed yet. I dated two guys after, each was a mistake (of course) and hooked up with even more because apparently when I get all heart-broken I turn into a slut. Anyway, I experimented with drugs, a lot of drugs, but have been sober for about three months and plan to stay that way. All the drugs did was temporarily mask the problem at hand, and after that I felt I felt a lot worse. I also started drinking a lot, and still enjoy a drink here and there but I have serverly cut back on that as well. Along with all of the stupidity above I ate my feeling hardcore, I gained about 25lbs this year, which is very bad. Coming to the light at the end of the shitty tunnel I created for myself I realized I needed to change my life around, or maybe just actually begin it.   &lt;br /&gt;  &lt;br /&gt;There you have it, the 100% truth about me this past year and the journey to this particular point. Ready for a little more?   &lt;br /&gt;  &lt;br /&gt;I have never been this big, clocking in at &lt;strong&gt;173lbs&lt;/strong&gt; (I am &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;5'8"&lt;/span&gt;) and it scares the piss out of me. I wear a size &lt;strong&gt;12 US&lt;/strong&gt; jean right now, as opposed to the size &lt;strong&gt;8 US&lt;/strong&gt; from last year this time. My goal size is a size &lt;strong&gt;4-6 US&lt;/strong&gt; and a toned body. All I know is that I can not and will not let myself get any bigger, for personal and health reasons. The goal of this diet/exercise adventure is about slimming down and getting healthier. I want to be healthy, have toned arms, and lots of energy. I do not want to be a skeleton with skin, I do appreciate the way designer garments flow of such a figure but I love curvy women. I love hips, butts, and boobs. Aside from the weight issue I am having a tough time emotional and that will be discussed here to and of course it will all be relevant. I am also trying to quit smoking cigarettes, it hasn't been so hard yet but I know it will probably get more tempting.   &lt;br /&gt;  &lt;br /&gt;I have a lot of work to do on this still but each entry will probably highlight my physical and emotional states each week as well as my diet and work-out routines, pictures, goals, and anything else I find relevant. I also plan to write a lot about my own ideas on body image/self-esteem.
